QUALIFICATIONS
To qualify for our placement services, which are 100% free for childcare and household help providers, you need to meet the following basic criteria:
- Have command of the English language (bilingual a plus!)
- Permission to work in the United States.
- Pass a criminal background check.
- Verifiable high school diploma or higher.
- Have verifiable experience as a childcare provider in a private household, DFCS licensed commercial childcare facility, or DCFS licensed home daycare.
- Strong character references.
- Have or be willing to obtain CPR & First Aid certification. (If you don't have it, we will reimburse you once you've completed 45 days in a role with a family client of The Nanny Standard)
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work.

HIRING AND SCREENING PROCESS
1. Fill out our Childcare Provider Application to get started on your journey toward an exciting career in childcare!
2. Wait for our e-mail confirming receipt of your application and to schedule a phone call. During this call, we will confirm your position preferences and request any additional information from you.
3. Upon a successful phone screening, you will receive an email to schedule a live meet and greet. This meeting with a member of our team will allow you to ask questions and give us the pleasure of learning more about who you are as a person!
4. Upon a mutual decision to move forward, await the results of a background check and verification of the information provided in your application. For our privacy policy on how we use this information, click here.
5. Once your application is processed, your candidate profile will be shared with client families, and you will be scheduled for meetings with prospective families in need of childcare providers.
6. Upon a successful family client match, you will receive communication regarding your job offer, which will include your expected start date, work schedule, pay, and benefits information.
7. We will advocate for you and make sure you are content with the offer, then upon acceptance/signing of your offer, we will communicate the placement with your future employer family. You will expect to start on the date discussed and upon your first day of work, you might be offered an official contract by the family re-iterating job duties and pay/benefits. This is standard.
8. We will check in with you after a few weeks once you're in your role to ensure that everything is going smoothly!
